Writing a Psalm:
Psalm Example
Thank you, God, for keeping me safe. I love you.
You made everything here on earth. You are very helpful all around the world. I'm glad you made us.
Thank you, God, for making me glad. Thank you, God, for loving me and my family.
Thank you for loving my brother and seeing his needs. Give him the strength to walk, run, and jump. Keep him from falling and feeling sad.
Hold me tight the way I hug and kiss my Mom. Help me not feel hurt when my parents say, "No."
Please help me feel safe when the lights are out. I am grateful for you, God, and all that you have made.

Psalm Example with Sentence Starters
BLESS the Lord for He helps us.
BECAUSE God is my guide, I follow him.
BEHOLD the majesty of God, for all that he makes is beautiful.
SPEAK Lord, I’m listening for your voice.
SHOULD we keep God’s Word?
YES!
BECAUSE we are safe and sound with his protection
ASK God for help and He will never let you down.
ALL the time, sing songs of happiness and peace to God.
NEVER ever disobey God.
NO bad words about God or any bad stuff.
NOT my way but yours, God.
GREAT news, God’s in town, love him!
GOODNESS is the best! Our God is really good!
GUIDE me in the way of truth telling, deliver me from lies.
GOD help my muscles and make me strong so I can live a good long life.
COMFORT me and my family when times are tough.
CALL me when you are lonely God, I’ll be there for you.
COME and see how I obey you.
YOU are my God, my strength, and my cheerleader.
YOUR way is my way. Help me to follow you!
YES, we will do whatever you say, because we trust you.

How can we know what God is like?
|
Explore the book In God's Name by Sandy Sasso.
Through this book we heard many different names for God. Not one name was correct as God can be called many things. At times he can be our Source of Life, our Creator of Light, our Shepherd, our Maker of Peace or our Rock. Today in our class we have many different names for God.
